Quantity pricing
The price per bag falls as the quantity rises. A tier applies from its quantity upward until the next one begins, so 3,000 is charged at the 2,500 rate. Order value is the goods cost at that tier’s own starting quantity, excluding freight. Your quantity is highlighted as you change it above.

About this product
Black contractor-grade refuse bags in the standard 38 × 58 in size, made to fit 55 to 60 gallon drums and sold by the bag. The default is 3.0 mil (76 micron), the thickness sold as “contractor” or “heavy duty” in the USA, which is what you want for broken pallets, offcuts, strapping and packaging waste. A lighter 2.0 mil option suits general warehouse and office refuse at a lower cost per bag.
Supplied in cases — 50 bags per case at 3.0 mil, 100 per case at 2.0 mil — with a 1,000-bag minimum, which is 20 cases of the heavy grade. That is a few months of supply for a busy warehouse and a year or more for a small unit, so the usage guide is worth a read before you order.
Which thickness
Thickness is the decision that matters. 3.0 mil is for anything with a sharp edge or real weight — cardboard offcuts, pallet debris, metal strapping. 2.0 mil is for bulky, light waste such as packing paper, film and general rubbish. Going thinner than that to save a cent a bag usually costs more in splits than it saves, as the guide on why trash bags split explains.
What this line is not
These are refuse bags, not food-contact or medical-waste bags, and we make no claim that they are. We do not state a recycled-content figure for this line.

Frequently asked questions
What size drum does a 38 × 58 inch bag fit?
A standard 55-gallon drum, which is about 23 inches across and 35 inches tall, and the 50 and 60 gallon sizes either side of it. The bag is deliberately longer than the drum so the top can fold over the rim and stay put as it fills.
Is 3 mil or 2 mil the better choice?
Buy 3 mil if the waste has sharp edges or real weight — cardboard offcuts, broken pallets, strapping, glass. Buy 2 mil for light, bulky waste such as packing paper and film. If you are unsure, buy the 3 mil first and see how many bags you lose to splits before moving down.
What does “mil” mean, and how does it compare to gauge?
A mil is one thousandth of an inch, so 3.0 mil is 0.003 in or 76 micron. Some sellers quote gauge instead, where 100 gauge equals 1 mil. Be careful with “mil equivalent” or “EQ” wording: it describes a thinner high-density film claimed to perform like a thicker one, not an actual measured thickness.
Is 1,000 bags really the minimum?
Yes, as on every product we sell. At 3.0 mil that is 20 cases, so it suits a warehouse or facility using bags daily. If you use fewer than around 15 bags a week, buying this quantity would leave you holding stock for over a year and we would rather say so.
Do you supply other sizes, such as 33 or 95 gallon?
Not as stocked lines. If you need another size in volume, send the dimensions and quantity through the quote request form and we will price it.
Are these recycled, food-safe or compostable?
No claim is made for any of those. They are standard black polyethylene refuse bags. We do not state a recycled-content figure for this line, and they are not intended for food contact or medical waste.
